About the role
The Strategic Projects Lead is a high-trust generalist who takes on Verona’s most important problems before they have an obvious owner. You will work directly with the founders on initiatives that can materially change the trajectory of the business, then stay with the work until the analysis becomes an operating reality.
The scope will change as Verona grows. One quarter you may build the operating model for a new customer segment; the next, stand up a strategic partnership, redesign a delivery process, or create the analytical system behind a critical company decision. The constant is end-to-end ownership under ambiguity.
What you’ll do
- Own high-priority initiatives across go-to-market, customer delivery, partnerships, talent, and company operations from first question to durable result.
- Build the analysis and decision framework behind Verona’s most consequential company-building choices.
- Identify operational gaps before they are obvious, determine which ones matter, and create the system or process that closes them.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams around a clear objective, decision owner, operating cadence, and measurable outcome.
- Stand up new capabilities, programs, or business lines, then recruit or transition a long-term owner when the model is working.
- Serve as connective tissue across the company without becoming a layer of coordination for its own sake.
What we’re looking for
- 3–5 years of exceptional performance in strategy, operations, consulting, investing, banking, a chief-of-staff role, or an early-stage technology company.
- Excellent analytical judgment and the ability to structure an ambiguous problem, find the decisive facts, and form a clear recommendation.
- Crisp written and verbal communication with founders, customers, and technical and nontechnical teams.
- The operating range to move from market research and financial analysis to project management and hands-on implementation.
- Low ego, high discretion, and the trustworthiness to handle sensitive work without creating organizational drag.
- A proactive ownership mindset: you identify gaps before they become urgent and drive them to resolution without waiting for instructions.
You might excel here if
- Experience standing up a new business line, market, operating function, or cross-functional program from a blank page.
- Strong quantitative ability, including comfort building decision models and using data to challenge an attractive narrative.
- Technical fluency or prior work alongside product, engineering, AI, or data teams.
- Evidence that you can move with both speed and precision when the answer matters and the timeline is short.
