About the role

Verona helps large organizations identify high-value AI opportunities and turn them into production systems. As our Founding Strategic Account Executive, you will build the commercial motion that brings this model to the world’s most consequential enterprises.

You will own the full customer journey: finding the right entry point, helping executive and technical buyers understand what Verona can make possible, assembling a credible deployment plan, closing the partnership, and growing it into multiple production workstreams. You will work directly with Verona’s founders and engineers to shape our positioning, sales methodology, and market strategy from first principles.

What you’ll do

  • Own strategic enterprise opportunities from account selection and first contact through discovery, close, deployment, and expansion.
  • Multi-thread across executive, AI, engineering, security, procurement, and legal stakeholders to create urgency and align a path to production.
  • Lead consultative discovery that identifies valuable use cases, exposes the cost of inaction, and distinguishes real production opportunities from innovation theater.
  • Partner with Verona’s engineers to scope credible engagements, define success measures, and communicate technical tradeoffs without overselling.
  • Build trusted relationships that expand an initial engagement into a durable enterprise partnership.
  • Create the account-planning, qualification, forecasting, and sales practices that Verona will use as the commercial team grows.
  • Translate customer objections, lost deals, and market signals into sharper positioning, packaging, and product priorities.

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years owning complex enterprise software, AI, infrastructure, or technical-services sales cycles.
  • A record of personally sourcing and closing large, multi-stakeholder deals with sophisticated technical buyers.
  • Exceptional discovery and executive communication: you can uncover the real business problem, challenge weak assumptions, and build a tailored case for action.
  • Enough technical curiosity and fluency to earn credibility with CTOs, AI leaders, engineering teams, and security stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial judgment across qualification, account strategy, negotiation, procurement, and expansion.
  • The competitiveness, resilience, and high agency required to build an early sales motion without a mature playbook or large support organization.

You might excel here if

  • Experience selling AI, developer infrastructure, data platforms, or another product where technical depth materially affected the sale.
  • A track record of turning an initial pilot or use case into a strategic, multi-workstream enterprise relationship.
  • Experience opening a new market, vertical, or customer segment and codifying what worked for the team that followed.
  • An operator’s or builder’s background that lets you move comfortably between commercial strategy and technical substance.
